The new model features Mitsubishi's S-AWC2 traction and handling system, that integrates the control of drive torque and braking management with the four-wheel drive system to help realise highly responsive and intuitive handling in addition to outstanding vehicle attitude stability.
Other examples of Mitsubishi Motors' latest automotive technology to be featured in the new model include a new lightweight and high-performance 2.0 litre turbocharged MIVEC3 engine with aluminium cylinder block and a 6-speed automated manual transmission that contributes to exceptional performance with improved fuel economy.
The car's performance-driven design makes the car's extreme potential clear, while cockpit design focuses the driver’s attention on operating his machine.
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS Compact Sedan
What was tested?: 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS ($18,490).
Options: Sun and sound package ($1,500).
Price as tested (including $625 destination charge): $20,615.
I've driven lots of cars that make idiots want to race me.
Usually I just ignore them and drive like a grandma until they go away, taking off in their sticker-covered cars with McDonnell-Douglass spoilers and Folgers-can exhaust tips. I think it's great that they want to race, just not on a public street.
And I've never driven a car that attracts more stupid, whiny-engined street racers than this Mitsubishi.
It's the Lancer GTS, a family car designed to look and feel sporty. It has a rock-hard suspension, a huge rear wing and styling that makes it look kinda sorta like the wicked-fast Mitsubishi Evolution X.
Despite what the kids in crooked hats think, though, the Lancer GTS is no Evolution. It actually feels like it's powered by an anemic hamster.
Other than the drivetrain, everything about this car feels raw and abrasive, exactly what a hardcore driving enthusiast wants. In many ways, it feels like it belongs on a racetrack, mainly because of the raucous suspension that makes even a mirror-smooth road feel like it's filled with potholes. Few street cars let you sense the road surface as precisely as this one, which is great if you want an engaging drive but no so cool if you want to be comfortable.
In a strange contradiction, though, this car that feels race-inspired in so many ways has an engine that feels, in comparison, like a wind-up toy.
The GTS has the same engine as all the other standard-issue Lancers, a 2.0-liter four-banger that makes 152 horsepower. That's actually a reasonable amount of power for a family car, but it seems out of place in a vehicle that feels spectacularly sporty in other ways.
It doesn't help matters that the engine is coupled to a continuously variable transmission, so you don't get the same sensation of speed as you would with a manual transmission or even, heaven forbid, a traditional automatic.
Of course, driving isn't all about power. Even without a super-powerful engine, the Lancer GTS is fun to toss around, rewarding your skill as a driver rather than your ability to step on the gas pedal. It doesn't come with traction control -- it's not even available as an option -- so you're always free to play with the limits of tire adhesion without an electronic schoolmarm stepping in to spoil your fun.
The Lancer GTS also excels as a regular family car, assuming you can live with the rough ride. It has comfortable front seats, a roomy back seat and lots of air bags to keep you safe in a wreck.
The big question, though, is whether you'll want to buy one. If you want your car to look fast but not necessarily be fast, then the Lancer GTS is a good buy for $18,490. For that money, it's a nice looking, fun-to-drive family car.
But if you want serious performance, you'll have to look elsewhere. The Evolution X will likely cost around $35,000, but more affordable speed machines are out there, like the Honda Civic Si, Acura RSX and Chevy Cobalt SS in the low $20,000 range. Does that mean there's room in the Mitsubishi showroom for a higher performance Lancer that's more affordable and less scary than the Evo? I sure hope so.
Pros: It's a stylish, fast-looking car with a super-firm, sporty feeling suspension.
Cons: It doesn't have the power to back up its racer looks.

Mitsubishi Evolution X FQ-400
Car Hall Of Fame: Mitsubishi Evolution
The first induction was a shoe-in: the Mitsubishi Evolution.
There is a reason that this is the first car we plan on talking about – The Evolution was by far, hands down, the best all around bang for your buck in its prime from 2003-2006 (Evolution VIII & IX). This car, with its price tag of around $30,000 USD, was the best performance you could get out of a stock car, not to mention all of the aftermarket performance sellers who saw the possibilities with the Evolution.
Equipped with all-wheel-drive, the Evo, along with the Subaru WRX STi, collectively set a new standard for all around automotive performance. Sure the usual American muscle cars can offer great pricing on performance, but the Mitsubishi and it’s cousin are more than just “straight-line” cars. The Evolution put down jaw dropping numbers – tested stock when it came to slalom, braking, g-pad, and track lap times.
The sad news is that after 2006 Mitsubishi decided that it was time to revamp the Evolution for the tenth time. It could have been worse: Subaru decided that they would revamp the WRX STi, and decided that people should not have to choose whether they want a hatchback or not. Subaru felt it neccessary to make that decision for you. In 2008 ( and hopefully only 2008 ) the WRX STi will only be offered in the hatchback style. The Evolution X wins 2008 by default. Here it is: The Mitsubishi Evolution X
Some people like the X better than the VIII or IX. We are not those people. Based on looks alone the X is nowhere near where the 8’s or 9’s were. Also the X is slightly heavier and a tad slower. This is not the end of the Evolution by any means, but as for us – we’ll stick with the golden age (2003-2006)
Seidl Tuning Mitsubishi Evolution VIII
Seidl Tuning and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 is a very nice partnership. Seidl used to tune especially German cars, but know they’ve decided to beat this sharp Japanese.
Because the engine and suspension are up-to-date, they made only bodykit modifications – front bumper, side sills and rear bumper.
The front bumper comes from original lines and it’s slightly modified. There are vertical bars in side openings and both sides has small lollypops now.
The most distinctive change is in case of new paintwork of central part. Now it’s black and it looks very interesting. They continued in the sills and now we can enjoy extreme ones with sporting image.
The rear bumper was next and it consists of three big openings with exhaust tip in one of them. Overall, this bumper looks nice; it’s simple but has nice details. The way of German tuners.
They didn’t forget about wheels. Original rims were replaced by chromed alloys with low-profile tires. I think this wasn’t good move.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo’s characteristic rear wing was replaced by slightly retiring with stop light.
And that’s all. The German Seidl tuning proves that they can do also non-German machines. They made the extreme bodykit for the extreme car. It’s not perfect, but looks good and drives perfectly.

The CF-360, developed by Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart , becomes not only in the fourth model offered by the company in Britain but also in one of the bullets faster than see the country's roads in far too long. Their arguments are convincing; 371 horsepower (366 bhp) at 6,887 rpm and 492 Nm at 3,200 rpm. This spectacular performance was achieved using a fuel pump high-pressure, a high-flow catalyst and the reprogramming of the typical call center.
The dynamic aspect of the car remains unchanged, so that direction, suspension, brakes and traction system remain faithful to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX normal .
Visually there are differences. The exclusive tire SpeedLine of 5 radios wrapped in Yokohama gums, a new front spoiler in carbon fibre and a generator torbellinos rear identify the CF-360. Inside, the tray beneath the audio equipment has been replaced by some watches Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart order to check the parameters of pressure, oil temperature and battery voltage.
In terms of equipping the CF-360 comes standard with air conditioning, Recaro seats, power windows, alarm, RADIOCD and four airbags. None of these elements harms their performance, showing a spectacular 0 to 100 in 4.2 seconds. The maximum speed is around 260 per hour (160 miles per hour, approximately 257 km / h).

The MR benefit from Eibach springs and Bilstein shock absorbers and a reduction in the height of the vehicle so that this is more glued to the ground. He joined the AWC system control driving, which ensures good maneuverability and stability; Enkei 17-inch tires and Super Active Yaw Control (AYC) system that transfers torque / torque between the rear wheels while maintaining control, increasing the traction and better performance.

Surprised at the Barcelona version of the Lancer Ralliart Sportback
There are still a few months for his official presentation in Paris, but the Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback is already walking naked through the streets of Barcelona. Will it be a thing of the heat? Danidmas of The Auto Union, had the great fortune to meet one of the first units of the compact during a demonstration for the press, and neither short nor lazy bland chamber to immortalize your phone before they disappear.
As you can see from the pictures, the version of the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback features the same front of Evo sedan, complementing the rest of the body with skirts, obscured tires and a small rear spoiler. The mechanical available in Europe for the base model will be three, a 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0, petrol, diesel and petrol respectively. The M itsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback will use a more powerful 2.0 turbo with 240 hp.

Frankfurt 2005: Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX
Continuing with the Japanese we find ourselves with the latest incarnation of a legend of the rallies, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution .
Mitsubishi has chosen to follow a continuous line, a little more rounded, perhaps even less aggressive, and that is distinguished by a whole new bumper / headlights, drawing attention pilots rear, transparent and size "small" (I found very beautiful and appropriate). As could not be otherwise, your engine has also been revised, reaching the figure of 280 angry horses, which together with its probadÃsimo design, are able to make it ridiculous to cars much more expensive and more renown.
With regard to internal ... Inside ... ... 're going to quit in "functional". Next to the adusto Subarus seemed stylized Mercedes. Okay, all materials were of high quality, but is that both the instrument panel as the rest of the dashboard were extremely outdated, almost retro. Since the installation of radio-CD at the controls of air conditioning through the prehistoric digital clock. Do not Mitsubishi could have been a little more careful? The touch, although correct, was not exactly refined, and I think the only thing really good inside the seats were competitive
2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR Touring
A slightly more comfortable version of the iconic Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. As its name suggests, it’s based on the Evo MR, with its six-speed dual-clutch automated manual gearbox. The Evo MR Touring presents a somewhat subtler visual image with its less obnoxious rear wing while making occupants a bit more comfortable with full leather upholstery, more sound insulation, heated seats, and a sunroof. Auto headlamps and an insulated windshield round out the Touring trim, which is considered the flagship of the Evo line. A classier center console with improved materials also comes along for the ride to dress up the interior, as it does for all 2010 Evos and higher-end Lancer trim levels.
How Does It Drive?
Very well, since the additions only add about 30 pounds compared with the MR. It still drives like the Evo it is, it just seems to bring a little less craziness than do other Evos (and it can be argued that the normal one brings less craziness than most previous generations of Evos did). In other words, it’s fast, fun, and firm on the road. Retained are the sharp steering, right-now brakes, and very aggressively scooped seats. (We still have bruises on our right butt cheek from the first time we hopped in and didn’t quite clear the structurally reinforced lower bolster.) The turbo whirl and rorty note of the 291-hp four-banger are still present, happily, just not as in-your-face, which should be welcome on longer drives. Indeed, while we probably still wouldn’t choose this car for any “touring” duties, it is certainly the most touring-worthy of the current crop of Evos.
How Does It Stack Up?
If you consider the 305-hp Subaru Impreza WRX STI as the Evo’s only direct competition, the Lancer Touring can be considered the most premium and elegant car in its class. Tee-hee. However, at the Touring’s heavens-to-the-high price, there are many other slick rides that are just as fun—however different in character—including the Mazda RX-8, the Infiniti G37, and the BMW 1-series. We wouldn’t buy a Touring without cross-shopping the others to see which best handles your own brand of touring.
What’s the Cost?
At $41,710, plus a couple grand for navigation, the Evo Touring is a near-$44K proposition. Yikes. And it remains hard to get around that price tag even when bombing around corners with as much hustle as you can muscle. It might be a great used-car deal, however, once the first guy takes the hit, provided the car doesn’t take too many hits itself on its various “tours."
